My self-image use to impact my daily life. It all started after a bad breakup I had years ago. Even though I wasn’t physically abused I was emotionally, verbally and mentally. That is when I began to doubt my self worth. I started to believe that I wasn’t good enough at anything, I felt ugly in my outer appearance, thought my weight wasn’t good enough, and I was a people pleaser. I tried really hard to fit in and always felt like an outcast. This was a point in my life where I didn’t care about having friends or relationships with anyone and became really anti-social. I even went to counseling sessions and took sleeping medication because all of this was causing me to have sleepless nights. As time went on I starting looking for ways to cope and improve my mindset. I started researching on the internet and looking for self help books. My life has never been the same since. I am now more confident in myself and in everything I do so my beliefs started to change. I came across one book that talked a lot about self image and law of attraction. It explained how what ever you think about, you become and attract it. If you think about something negative, that is exactly what your going to get in your life, and if you think about something positive, you will attract positive things. So I learned there are two vibes you can attract which are positive and negative, and I realized I can only have one vibration at a time. If I wanted to have a better self image of myself I had to believe and think positive things. I started doing daily affirmations and believed and felt that what I was saying is actually true about myself.
All of the negative things I was thinking didn’t help my mindset at all and therefore i wasn’t happy. When I started applying some of the techniques such as affirmations and listening to audios, practicing everyday and shifting my thinking helped me to manifest the great positive things I always wanted in my life. I now have more abundance in my life, a better healthier relationship with my boyfriend, and overall more stability. Other things I would do was meditate, go to the gym, drink water, take walks to get some sunlight, and write. I started changing my thoughts and words that I would say to myself and that’s when I got my confidence back. I now I have a powerful self-image about myself and I am worthy to this world, to god, and I realized the most important person is me.
So for anyone that has been told that you are not good enough and that you are not attractive, don’t believe that. Simply cancel that thought and replace it with something good. The Big question I ask myself daily that helps me is simply saying this, SO WHAT DO I WANT? Instead of focusing on the things you DON’T WANT, focus on the things that YOU WANT for yourself. That will help you get clarity and get rid of the doubt.
Happy Sunday people 🙂
